About
My name is Mattia Rebuffo

I founded Nisio Guitars in 2023 with the goal of putting the best possible instrument in the hands of guitarists and bassists.
Whether it's an existing one that needs some adjustments, or a custom-made instrument built from scratch, the passion I've cultivated for years in this craft is what drives me to constantly improve.
The PRIMO line embodies everything I’ve learned about it, with a keen eye for classy aesthetics and a no-compromise approach to build quality.

WHY?

Captivated by the allure of the electric guitar building process, and advantaged by a family passion for wood, I began my journey at 14, building my first guitar from scratch. Since then, I’ve continued to experiment, modify, break, and constantly tweak my guitars, creating many for myself and playing them in various bands and projects over the years, quickly learning which aspects to improve. Over time, friends and acquaintances turned into my first happy customers, whose satisfaction encouraged me to further refine my knowledge. In 2021, I graduated with a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Turin, while continuing to make sawdust at home. My university studies helped me organize my skills, giving me a particularly objective approach to sound, "tone," and the workings of the six strings.
Before and during this experience, I continued to play and create custom instruments for various local and international musicians, who brought my work to national and international stages, providing me with invaluable feedback. The Nisio Guitars project had been brewing in my mind for a long time: a brand that, in addition to repairing and maintaining instruments, could produce custom electric guitars characterized by great attention to detail, a refined aesthetic, and a stylistic continuity that strengthens and gives authority to the brand.

WHERE?
In Castelnuovo di Ceva (CN), in the farmhouse where my grandfather, Dionisio “Nisio” Rebuffo, once ran his agricultural business, I chose to set up the production of my instruments. Aware of the logistical challenges, I’m nonetheless convinced of the importance of keeping alive those places which, in an age dominated by speed and comfort, risk fading into oblivion.
